Dr Richard Wong – Medical Director
Richard qualified from St Bart’s and the Royal London School of Medicine in 2004 with an honours degree in surgery, pharmacology and therapeutics. His original career plan was to be a neurologist, and graduated with a first class Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience. He completed GP specialist training in 2009, and went on to gain further professional post graduate qualifications in obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics, and reproductive health.
Richard has been a GP partner in a local NHS practice since 2009 providing routine general medical services, and he also works for the local extended access service. In addition Richard has an interest in GP education, having been a GP clinical and educational supervisor since 2014. He has recently taken on the exciting role of Medical Director for Warrington Primary Care CIC. He is very passionate about improving population health, improving patient outcomes and access to services, enhancing quality of local services, and improving the working lives of his NHS colleagues.
Outside of work, Richard prioritises spending time with his young family, but also enjoys reading, running, and he has a passion for marine fish-keeping!
